Summer accessory trends and Sheikha Mozah's turban

 
We've brought our catwalks analysis to a close for another season and the final part of our Key Item report highlights the important directions for belts, eyewear, jewellery and soft accessories for spring/summer 2011.

It was a time when most low-key soft, but the scarves shawls and turbans in 1970 rose to a strong commercial orientation. turban, in particular, have paid special attention in recent days after Qatar Sheikha Mozah visited the United Kingdom, paid an official visit and photos of his wife, the Emir of Qatar (and noted the Paris couture client) led by designer Julien Macdonald to hail him the most influential first lady since Jackie Kennedy - but Michelle Obama might have something to say. It will be interesting to see how developments affect international fashion, particularly in markets where the head cover is the norm. But back to our readers, in the summer, there was plenty of eye direction, which rounded frames our lead story. There was also a lot of trends belt, like all the designers offered a wide waist cinching belts waspies super-skinny and winding.

For jewellery, it was a notably minimal season in terms of design, with key items including simple metal cuffs, smooth-surface chokers or neck plates, and simple plastic bangles. At the more decorative end of the spectrum, designers offered fringed necklaces and rope jewellery.
