PROGRAM DEFINITION

Textiles, Clothing and Design brings together the art of design, the science of chemistry, the application of management principles and the perspective of history in a rich, challenging learning environment. A degree in Textiles, Clothing and Design will prepare you for an exciting career with personal and professional satisfaction.

FACILITIES

The Department of Textiles, Clothing and Design is located in the Home Economics Building on East Campus. This facility contains:

• Student advising center

• Computer labs

• Robert Hall stead Textiles Gallery

International Quilt Study Center

• Historic textile, ethnic dress and costume collection

• Computer-aided design lab (Lecture)

PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS (What’s expected of you as an undergraduate student)

• Maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA to remain in good standing in the College of Education & Human Sciences.

• Complete an internship experience or study tour.

• Enroll in Textiles, Clothing and Design introductory courses in years 1 and 2; specialization and common completion courses in years 3 and 4.
