Summer Intensives Choreography Introduction

Summer Intensives: Performance Project
Date: 11 August 2008 - 15 August 2008
Time: 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Kerry Nicholls will work with participants to develop task-based choreographic tools designed to encourage individual creativity. The resulting ideas will be structured into a short piece to share at the end of the week. Kerry will be joined by her long-time collaborator, composer David Walters who will devise music scores to accompany participants choreography.
Teacher's Biography
Kerry's experience spans a diverse spectrum of dance practice encompassing choreographic work, teaching and performance. Kerry has danced and taught for many leading companies throughout Britain and Europe. In 1999 she founded Kerry Nicholls Dance Company (klnldlc) and joined London Contemporary Dance School as a full-time member of faculty in September 2002.

Summer Intensives: Integrated Creative Workshop
Date: 11 August 2008 - 15 August 2008
Time: 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
This class is for disabled and non-disabled dancers with some previous experience of dance workshops and community performances. Non-disabled dancers with no previous experience of working with disabled dancers are welcome to attend.
Five afternoons of adventures in artistry with Foot In Hand (Director Louise Katerega & Tom Clark) for experienced disabled and non-disabled performers. Responding to the interests of participants, the company will share the dynamic, creative and empowering approaches to integrated dance (including wheelchair skills), which led them to the 2006 Place Prize semi-final and inform their national and international portfolio of teaching work.
