Summer Intensives Pilates Introduction

This class is open to all participants and offers the ideal complement to one of our more rigorous technique classes. Alan will guide you through the basics of Pilates working to improve flexibility and stability.

Summer Intensives: Contemporary Introduction


Date: 11 August 2008 - 15 August 2008
Time: 09:30 am - 11:00 am
This class introduces you to the basics of contemporary dance and is suitable for complete beginners. Enjoy taking your first dance steps in these relaxed and informative classes. Cai will lead you in a release-based class using imagery and breath to improve fluidity enabling you to develop an understanding of the efficient release of energy when moving. The course will combine set material with improvisational structures.

Teacher's Biography
Cai Tomos studied dance at Coventry University he then went on to become a performer with Earthfall Physical Theatre and toured the UK and Europe. Cai has worked as a choreographer/director with both Earthfall and Diversions Dance Company and is co-founder of the Uru-Wales Project, a collaborative project with Director Martin Inthamossou that takes place in Montevideo South America.

Cai was recently awarded a creative Wales award by the Arts Council to develop his own work and is currently working as an independent artist. Cai has extensive teaching experience and regularly teaches contemporary technique throughout London and Wales.

Teachers' Biographies
Kerry’s experience spans a diverse spectrum of dance practice encompassing choreographic work, teaching and performance. Kerry has danced and taught for many leading companies throughout Britain and Europe. She founded Kerry Nicholls Dance Company (klnldlc) in 1999 and is currently Co-director of Education for System R1, Random Dance.
