Bernardine Evaristo
This is the launch event of Blonde Roots, Bernardine Evaristo's brilliantly inventive new book. The novel is an ingenious reversal of the slave trade, in which Africans are the masters and Europeans held captive, blending historical detail with sharp characterisation. Bernardine reads from the book and takes questions from the audience.

Sunday Choral: World Song/Woven Chord
Two choirs with a unique repertoire perform traditional harmony songs from around the world - all sung in the original languages. Seen at last year’s Overture weekend at Southbank Centre, singers from Woven Chords (Stamford) and WorldSong (Coventry) unite once more to give expression to exquisite harmonies from many different cultural traditions. Their high quality, joyful performances of powerful and eclectic songs swell the spirit and take the audience on an inspired and celebratory musical journey.
